The former Archbishop of Church of Uganda Stanley Ntagali has finally owned up his sin and apologized to God, his family, church, fellow bishops and the country for committing adultery.
Ntagali who confessed to his sin of having an affair with a married woman said he was sorry since he was tempted by satan as any other person can be tempted into sin by the evil.
“On Christmas evil 1994, as a young man I gave my life to Jesus Christ and I still love God because He has loved me. Sadly I fallen into sin of adultery and I confess to God to forgive me and I want church, my brother Bishops, all our partners, the family of Rev. Christopher and his wife Judith to please forgive me.” Apologized former Archbishop Ntagali
The Archbishop Emeritus apologized during the celebrations to mark 60 years of Church of Uganda at the Namirembe Cathedral. The service was attended by all the 34 Bishops of the church’s dioceses and various invited guests that included the former Prime Minister John Patrick Amama Mbabazi who was the chief guest.
The archbishop said that he is going to hide and put his life on the unshakable rock of Jesus thus his life is now focused on eternity because the worldly things will end but one day he will stand before God to give accountability.
He pleaded to the congregation that those who repeat should be forgiven and should be having people around them to encourage them to enable them keep in faith.
The 8th Archbishop of Church of Uganda’s problems started after the current Archbishop of church of Uganda Dr. Stephen Kazimba Mugalu issued a letter suspending Ntagali for engaging in adulterous acts with Judith, a wife to Rev. Christopher.
We now await the Church of Uganda to officially communicate whether they have forgiven Ntagali.
