Once upon a time the rooster and his friends met up on some rich man’s farm. They used to share everything from beddings and food as friends.  On many occasions the cock used to scare the other friends that his comb(ekisunsu) is red hot and can be used to burn them just in case  they disobey him and his master’s instructions or touch his children. For long the other animals used to do the roosters bidding for fear of getting burnt. On many occasions the rooster commanded respect from other animals and it was a crime of the highest order not to do his instructions. He used to order other animals around by waking them at specific hours in the night and also informing them of the time table at the farm. On a fateful day, the  friends went to sleep as usual.  The hare woke up earlier than the rooster. When the hare saw the rooster in Slumber, he decided to find out how hot the comb of the rooster is? The hare called other animals and  gathered some dry grass and put it on the comb of the sleeping rooster.  The hare and other animals were astonished to see the grass was not catching fire!  Then carefully , he tried with its paws to touch the seemingly red hot comb of the cock. To amazement of everyone nothing came up like smoke or fire! The animals from then realised that the comb of the cock is very cold and can’t burn anything!. On confirming this, the animals and birds started being disobedient and told other animals that the rooster always deceived , lied and scaring to burn them. The rooster on realising that he has been debunked he started running for his life and started sleeping in the masters quarters. whenever he saw animals and birds he gets scared that they have come to revenge fro the lies and this explains why chicken never sleep out like other birds and animals. He always endeavours to stay around the house keeper to be saved from the angry animals and birds he always lied to that his comb has fire. Presidents Putin swallowed a bitter pill by going to Ukraine’s territory. His capacity has been put and tested on scales by a weak President Zelensiky of Ukraine who’s supposed to be the underdog and amateur in this war.  President Putin has been undressed and pitied around the world without U.S and NATO firing g a shot. Those leaders who have been banking on Putins ability and power have been left gazing as on a night you find yourself without a roof after a heavy pour! One now wonders whether the state of the art war machinery Putin has been selling across Africa are worth the dime or scare crow. On the face of things, now Russia is looking at Godfather China to save face. If Russia can be won without the alliance firing a shot or losing a man in almost a month, then Russia should do the honorable thing, to withdraw and pretend he has forgiven Ukraine and start sleeping in his housekeepers house China. Those who have been depending on Russia to prove their capacity, threatening others with state of the art firepower from Kremlin, you maybe keeping in armoury fakes as Russian tanks are turned into scraps on Kyiv highways and streets.  As if that’s not enough, now that Russia cannot perch anymore , let those who have been learning from it find new Godfathers for chicks without mothers will be prey for predators.  Ndawula Ronald, the author is the former Chairperson of Luwero district
