The Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) of the Uganda Police Force on Monday morning impounded Speaker Anita Among’s luxury Rolls-Royce, reportedly valued at Shs3.5 billion, from her residence in Kigo.
On Sunday, a joint security team comprising officers from the Uganda Police Force and the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) withdrew from the official residence of the embattled Speaker in Kololo and proceeded to her second home in Kigo, Makindye-Ssabagabo Municipality in Wakiso District.

The heavily armed security personnel surrounded the residence, leaving residents and neighbors in fear. Witnesses said the officers immediately ordered the private security guard at the gate to step aside before replacing him with UPDF officers.
During the operation, the Rolls-Royce and a Range Rover Sport were loaded onto a police low-bed carrier truck and transported to Police Headquarters in Naguru under tight security amid a heavy downpour.
Over the weekend, security agencies reportedly launched coordinated search operations at properties linked to the outgoing Speaker. The searches targeted residences in Nakasero, Kigo, and Ntinda following orders allegedly issued by the Commander-in-Chief.

The impounding of Among’s luxury vehicles came just hours after she announced that she would not contest for the Speakership of the 12th Parliament.
“I will not be offering myself for the Speakership race,” Among posted on X, formerly Twitter.
Her announcement followed days of heightened security activity, including raids and searches at her residences in Nakasero and other locations.
