Kampala Metropolitan South Police have arrested three suspects and recovered four motor vehicles suspected to have been stolen from different areas.
The suspects in custody have been identified as Kaddu Isaac, a casual worker; Kiseka Hussain, a resident of Kyanja in Nakawa Division; and Mukisa, a boda boda rider also residing in Kyanja.

Addressing the press at Police Headquarters in Naguru, Kampala, on Monday, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala said the recovered vehicles include a Toyota Fielder, registration number UBH 078B; a Toyota Premio, registration number UBR 943M, recovered from Garuga; a Honda, registration number UAU 025E; and a Toyota Mark X, registration number UBP 379L, recovered from a parking yard belonging to one of the suspects.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the registration numbers displayed on the vehicles were either falsely assigned or forged.

However, police have managed to identify the rightful owner of the Toyota Fielder, while efforts are ongoing to establish the owners of the remaining three vehicles.
Kawala said police were working tirelessly to establish the rightful owners of the recovered vehicles and ensure they are handed back to them.
“We are working tirelessly to identify the rightful owners of the three stolen vehicles to be handed over to them,” Kawala said.

The suspects are currently detained at Nateete Police Station as investigations continue into the suspected motor vehicle theft.
Police have assured members of the public of their commitment to dismantling criminal gangs involved in motor vehicle theft and recovering stolen property.
The public has also been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to security agencies to help curb vehicle theft and other related crimes.
