As a low level political pundit I enjoy sharing and analyzing political phenomena, dialogue and twists in events shaping our world, internationally, nationally and locally.
This has developed my interest in predicting, forecasting, and judging fairly the next course and strategy.
It’s interesting to watch the political game unfolding by the day and shaping the destiny of my country Uganda for good or for worse.
HE Bobi Wine has been nursing the dream of becoming Uganda’s next President for some time but it looks as if the dream is a mirage.
I believe without doubt, Mr.Kayagulanyi has all the potential of what would require a President to be.
He came from a very humble background, scratched his way to fame, made himself an icon and celebrated music star whose music echoes all dancing halls and sitting rooms throughout the country and beyond.
His genius in producing, writing and directing music is extraordinary and without doubt he’s the leading Artist in Uganda.
Bobi wine’s mesmerizing performances and intellectual prowess in coming up with catch hits and phrases that excite the young and old made him a STAR which will never die.
This star, is so powerful that it’s responsible for the tide that helped all capable and incapable , prepared and unprepared, masqueraders and focused NUP candidates to mysteriously find their way to parliament and other leadership positions.
Save for the perennial pundits who have been on the stage of Uganda politics forever and their names are bigger than their parties,
the likes of counsels, leader of opposition Hon.Mathias Mpuuga, Hon.Medard Seggona, Madam Teacher Hon.Nambooze, Hon Senyonyi , and a few others whose potential is unchallenged the rest are wondering and overwhelmed in a maze of confusion which includes unexpected opportunity, money shock, policy ignorance, allegiance , lack of knowledge, corruption, lack of potential and probably fear.
There’s a section of opposition MPs who have decided from the start to try and join NRM for money and are busy getting it.
50% of the NUP MPs are not diehards of HE Bobi wine but opportunists who will any time upstage him for money and the next big opportunity which will for sure come from NRMs President Museveni.
Also in the same half , there’s this group who are perfect ignoramuses who found themselves propelled to Parliament by Kyagulanyis genius but are incompetent, inadequate, and dont even know what to do next, but found themselves in the August house as a stray dog in the city.
This kind of partnership with a focused and vision bearer like Kyagulanyi attempting to dislodge an entrenched 7 term President in the category of President Tibuhaburwa is a mirage.
From the start, Kyagulanyi s NUP found itself swallowed in the fame of Bobi Wine and was assembled less than 6 month to elections and was not able to sieve , and make an in depth analysis of a core team to represent their interests and mission.
It’s sad to tell that 50% of NUP leaders in Parliament are self-seekers who can’t tempt the resilience, determination and persistence required to overturn a Museveni regime.
Given a chance Kyagulanyi should shelve his dream for now, go back to the drawing board, develop a team like Museveni did in the 80’s or else with this team, his dream is still a mirage and it will end like Judas Escariot did to Jesus.
