Entertainment centers, concerts have not been opened, Ministry of health insists

Ministry of health has insisted that entertainment centers and concerts have not been opened yet as it is being portrayed in some sections of the media.

Today afternoon, social media has been awash with the news of government opening up concerts and entertainment Centre in gazetted places from 7am to 7pm quoting the source as Uganda National Cultural Centre chairperson, board of trustees Sam Okello Kello.

However the ministry of health through their official twitter account refuted the news saying it only cinema centers that were opened with strict SOPs.

” As indicated by the Ministry of Health in a statement read on 9 November 2020, under entertainment, ONLY cinemas were permitted to open on 14 November 2020 provided persons maintain a 2 meter distance in all directions and adhere to all COVID-19 preventive measures.” Read ministry of health tweet
