Thousands turn up for Zadok and Joyce Wabulembo memorial foundation 3 days medical camp

Thousands  turn up at Ivukula health centre III  to get free medical support from various aliments in Namutumba district in a 3 days health camp organized by zadok and Joyce wabulembo memorial foundation

The health camp was organized by the family of late wabulembo of Ivukula village in Namutumba district through their parents  memorial foundation zadok and Joyce wabulembo foundation with support from well-wishers.

According to professor kose kayanja, the need and demand to give back to the community in remembrance of their parents lured them into doing the kind of support to the underprivileged people of Ivukula village Namutumba.

“According to statistics, malaria has killed many of our people,young and old ,but this is due to failure to access proper medical support and now we are here to assist the government in supporting our local people of Ivukula village reaching out to them with free medical support. This time around we target over 1200 patients unlike the previous camp that registered only 1000 patients.

They have come to assist the government in treating the non-communicable diseases and a number of them like diabetes, Pressure, stroke, heart disease and cancers and then eye Care have been targeted in today’s medical camp with free medical support.

The kind of service we have come with today is aimed at supporting the underprivileged sick people in this village of Ivukulu “

Justice Catherine Bamugemereire who is part of the initiative said that the overwhelming number of patients in the area calls for a proper health facility so that the local people can be supported on a daily basis, adding that in their village of Ivukula they have registered many cases where local people have succumbed to preventable death especially non communicable diseases.

She said that the giving back to local people is aimed at remembering their parents that passed on three years back after being victims of non-communicable diseases 

“This kind of service would be happening on a daily but due to lack of facilities that’s why it’s not ,but the need to give back to our people has influenced us to bring medical specialists both local and from abroad (USA ) to treat our people” said Justice Catherine 

The district chairman for Namutumba District, Hon Mukisa David appreciated the support extended to his people and requested the foundation to extend the service to other villages of Namutumba as the demand is big.

“We have more other sub counties with similar cases, their population is high and the kind of services they receive is not disserving. We request you to extend your helping hand to the entire districts and as Namutumba district leaders we promise full support towards your initiative ” Kalulu  

The Resident District Commissioner RDC Matende Thomas expressed his appreciation to the wabulembo family before urging them to continue assisting the ordinary people across Uganda.

The turn up for the services has been an eye opener to the district leaders who have graced event to start advocating for a change in status of Ivukula health Centre III to IVso that the identified sick people can get the medical support within their territory.

For this camp over 10 special local  doctors and 2 specialists from USA have been deployed to offer free  medical support to the community people of Ivukula ,however malaria as the lead communicable disease takes high Position calling for more interventions.
