Details have emerged on how a proudly professed state renowned blogger Sadam Senoga alias God Father managed to have a renowned journalist Ibrah K. Mukasa arrested and detained in guise of defamation charges.
Journalist Ibrah K. Mukasa was issued with criminal summons to appear before the Criminal Investigation Officer of Kawempe police division on 20th, March, 2023 to answer charges of criminal defamation under police file CRB 058/2023 which he did but instead he was tossed around and detained. Some police officers told Ibrah and some people who had come to bond him that the case is far beyond the meet the eye since it involves actions of fighting the state.
According to reliable sources within the corridors power and police, God father who is said to be a state agent was only used as a conduit to get at Ibrah K. Mukasa for hosting government critics especially opposition leaders on his online YouTube channel Extra Digest Mugobansonga yet he works for the state owned media house UBC Radio/ Star FM.
It is said that Ibrah K. Mukasa who also works for Spark Television a private owned media house has become threat by turning his Online You Tube Channel into a platform for the opposition to hit hard, criticize and awaken Uganda about the ruling government mismanagement of the country, torture and several human rights violation.
The sources further revealed that because the state fears the public backlash if it openly and directly dismisses Ibrah K Mukasa from work or sues him or closes his online You tube channel, it’s the reason it used its “agent” Godfather to concoct and report criminal defamation charges against him.
The arrest of journalist Ibrah K. Mukasa has shed light on the real reason behind his troubles and the tactics employed by the state to silence him. By utilizing “Godfather” and criminal charges, the government seeks to suppress dissent and prevent further exposure of their corrupt practices.
