Sentamu played for St Mary’s Boarding Senior Secondary School Kitende and Vipers SC. He made his name over one season at Vipers scoring six goals in 13 games before moving to Congolese side AS Vita in 2014.

Kitende snapped him up immediately and during the qualifiers for the 2013 Copa Coca-Cola, he scored 24 goals. At the real Copa Coca-Cola tournament in Kabale, he scored 16 goals, two short of the top-scorer.

His electrifying displays in the Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa in 2014 for Uganda Cranes – including a brace against Burkina Faso and consolation strike against Morocco – made the scouting agents sit up and take notice.
