Dismissed Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho hits back at FUFA

By Ahmed Senoga

Uganda Cranes midfielder Khalid Aucho  who was dismissed from the Camp as the team is preparing for two Afcon games has hit back at FUFA.

Aucho explains that when he arrived in the country, he told the person FUFA had sent to pick him that he was not feeling well and immediately needed to see a doctor but also needed to atleast briefly see his family!

“I have to see my kids to bless me whenever I’m home because I take so much time away from them,” he said

Aucho says he accepts the decision, will take it in good faith and wishes the team good luck in the two games.

He asked FUFA to normalise respecting players because they’re the ones who sweat out there!

“You just can’t tarnish my hard earned name like that. I don’t think I’m indisciplined as they’re claiming! Even if it means never playing for the national team ever again, it’s okay with me because atleast I’ve served my country enough now and I can retire from international football knowing I stood for the truth,” he said

He also said it might be Political since he supports the runner up in the just concluded presidential election and the president of National Unity Platform Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine

Aucho however said he accepts the decision, will take it in good faith and wishes the team good luck in the two games.

FUFA said Aucho reportedly failed to adhere to the National team Code of Conduct and FUFA Circular after he refused to board the official means of transport organised to pick him from Entebbe International Airport to the team camp at Cranes Paradise Hotel-Kisasi and had not even reported to camp since his arrival in the country!

“The player’s club Misr El Makkasa and Egypt Football Association A have duly been informed about the decision and a return air ticket has been issued to him for his travel back to Egypt” said FUFA

Uganda Cranes is preparing for two crucial AFCON Qualifiers against Burkina Faso and Malawi due next week.
