Bukesa fatal accident that claimed a life, police speaks out

Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has revealed that Police at Old Kampala are investigating a fatal accident that happened Wednesday at about 6:45am on Hoima Road, Bukesa traffic lights. 

He says that It is alleged that  Ismah Lubega,  26, a driver and resident of Maganjo in Wakiso District, was driving motor vehicle UBK 565B while driving recklessly according to eye witnesses , Knocked  a motorcycle registration number UFA 380B ridden by Geoffrey Tumuheirwe, 27. Tumuheirwe died on the spot.

However the police responded early enough and the body of the deceased person was conveyed to Kampala Capital City Authority mortuary at Mulago for a post mortem. The driver kept moving until it was intercepted by police and some riders. The vehicle is currently parked at Old Kampala Police Station where the driver is also detained. 

Luke in his statement also calls for calm and patience among the boda boda riders to allow police find out whether the allegations made about the cause of the accident are true or not.
