No bomb blast at Akamwesi mall

Uganda Police Force has refuted circulating on social media that there has been a bomb blast at Akamwesi Mall in Kyebando.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy spokesperson said that their expert teams responded to an alert and upon object retrieval, the bomb squad found poorly disposed of rubbish. 

“Please disregard all rumours circulating on social media that there has been a bomb blast at Akamwesi Mall in Kyebando.

Our expert teams responded to an alert,and upon object retrieval, our bomb squad found  poorly disposed off rubbish. 

While we commend the high vigilance from the public, we appeal to stake holders,and the public to avoid release of un -verified information as this may cause un necessary panick with in members of the public.”
