Uganda’s Eddy Kenzo beats other East African giants to win the 5th AFRIMA award

Uganda’s artiste and BET award winner Eddy Kenzo alias Edirisa Musuuza has been voted East Africa’s best male musician of the year.

Kenzo beat Diamond Platnumz, Rayvany, Harmonize, Darassa and Ali kiba (Tanzania), The Ben, Meddy (Rwanda), Sauti Sol, Bensoul and Nviiri (Kenya) And Lij Mic (Ethiopia) to win the award at the just concluded All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2021 award ceremony that happened in Lagos, Nigeria.

The big hits musician, dedicated the award to his producer Nessim who masterminded his Weekend jam and his fans.

“A big congratulations to all of us my people. East Africa juuuuuu. Producer Nesim gano manyigo muzey literally translated (Producer Nesim this is your energy) thank you so much papa. It’s a Weekend,” Kenzo posted in a video clip.

The award was received by Ugandan Music group B2C alias Kampala Boys and Spice Diana who were nominated as well in other categories on behalf of Kenzo who is still in USA

This year’s award comes as the 5th Afrima award won by Eddy Kenzo others being the Best African Collaboration of the Year Mbilo Mbilo- 2016, Best song of the year Shauri Yako- 2017, Best Male East Africa of the year- 2017 and Album of the year Biology Album – 2017
