Will Lt.Gen.Muhoozi be the Solomon of Israel?

By Ndawula Ronald

It’s trite that the eldest son becomes the heir to his father in case he passes on not only here but also in heaven.

Any sober mind when given the opportunity will write his will and entrust his possessions to first, his family and usually a boy in the family will take the helm of leadership of the family estate.

In African settings and traditions, kings usually go ahead to entrust their kingdoms to their sons and this has been the practice throughout the continent, save for Busoga where the King is elected by chiefs.

When these young defacto kings come of age, rituals are performed to enthrone the king dejure.

Before that, there are usually elders who spend time watching the defacto King to assess their suitability for the job.

His demeanor, interpersonal attributes and also the kind of mother who sired the defacto King comes into scrutiny.

In this assessment, tests and interviews on a plethora of issues are given virtually without the knowledge of the would be King.

They are sent on front lines with their army to assess their command prowess and also to learn other responsibilities.

Others are given hunting errands to see their determination when challenged.

Lt. Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba is as I can see on one of these tests to assess his leadership potential to face a potential challenger to his fathers legacy.

If I were Museveni and Muhoozi my son, I would love to have him succeed me and settle my estate .

To Museveni, Uganda is his thing and what he meant in Kayunga is, nothing Kaguta wants can fail to go through and because of courtesy he said NRM.

I trust the son of Kaguta to be one of the most foresighted, selfish leader when it comes to sit on the biggest chair in this land.

You think He gave his only son to join the army so that your children can come and be Presidents in his army?

Imagine you have your son and your shop you’ve occupied and tended for 36 years, do you allow your competitors to takeover the shop when you’re gone?

Yes , they will take the reigns of the shop if you dont prepare your children but that’s not Tubuhaburwa.

Gen Muhoozi you’re on your way to the biggest chair you’re going to inherit from your father, because Ugandans oppose you on social media it doesn’t mean you can’t.

Listen and sympathise with those who may harbour alternative views and win them by reason not force.

Be kind, reachable, and bring this country to total democracy which your father failed to achieve.

You will go far by negotiation than by fighting and teaching lessons the hard way.

Like Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King .jr and Mahatma Gandhi your legacy will be popular and shine forever if you use nonviolent and Irenic approaches to settle disputes like you’ve started with Rwanda.

King David was a mighty worrier but his Son, king Solomon was loved by God because he employed wisdom and negotiation during his reign and went on to become the greatest.

Welcome back from Rwanda.
