By Kabuye Ronald

The presidential special taskforce on land matters, State House has settled land disputes in Ndibulungi village, Kakabals Parish-luweero district between the area residents, the political leadership of the area and victoria sugar limited.

According to the head of the presidential special Taskforce on land matters Brigadier General Moses Shaban Lukyamuzi said they were petitioned by Victoria Sugar limited after district leaders and some residents stopped the building of a perimeter wall and road that leads to the company even after fully compensating the land owners to pave way for the development.

Brig. Gen. Lukyamuzi says that according to their assessment there was no reason for stopping the company to put up a perimeter wall to secure their factory and premises. “We have talked to them and given the factory a go ahead. We have even come with police to see for themselves so that they are not used to sabotage the company again”

He also called upon people faced with land wrangles to make use of his office to get justice. “Our office is open, we are located at Mengo, Lubiri anybody with such problems should come and petition to us, we are so ready to help because it’s the reason why the office was designated. I also strongly caution the land grabbers that their days are numbered.”

Victoria Sugar limited petitioned Taskforce after they pleaded with the district leaders to give them permission to construct a perimeter wall to protect both the company’s materials which was being stolen by thieves who pretend to be by passers and the accidents for the children but they refused.

The company also states that the district also stopped them from closing the small roads that leads to their company even after dully and fully compensating the land owners who have already vacated.
