JEEMA Party presents Fire brand Guild Candidates for MUK and MUBS

By Mukembo Wilfred

Since the year 2000 when JEEMA’s Basalirwa Asuman ascended to the Top students’ office at Makere University, JEEMA has never presented a guild candidate.

The year 2022 seems to be a turning point for JEEMA party which has been in Uganda’s politics since 1996.

Two firebrand guild candidates have been fronted to vie for the topmost students’ office both at Makerere University (MUK) and Makerere University business school (MUBS) on JEEMA ticket.

Mukyala Mackline is an iron lady who is committed to changing the politics of MUBS if elected, she is an eloquent and energetic young lady pursuing a Bachelors’ in Business Administration in her second year.

Muyinda Carlton who is holding JEEMA’s flag at Makerere University is so far turning tables in the girls’ halls of residences due to his appealing looks. ‘’He is a hunk, we must vote him” one of the females from Complex hall said. He believes JEEMA has a record of Smart politics which calls for inclusion and this is what is needed at Makerere University.

He wants to leave a legacy in the history of Makerere politics.

While speaking to Abdalla Tiff, JEEMA’s coordinator for university and institutions, says they fronted candidates after taking them through the party ideology and he is optimistic that when elected, they will create an impact in university politics. ‘’Our main focus is to nurture national leaders through University politics’’ said Abdalla Tiff.
