Uganda’s Music Diva Mary Bata has been voted Best personality of the month of January, February and March 2023 with 1078 votes (46.87 %) to win Diamond platnumz (TZ) 86 ( 3.74 % ), Dimateo zion (TZ) 90 ( 3.91 % ), Carol Nantongo (UG) 6 ( 0.26 % ), Cysto Panda (UG) 8 ( 0.35 %), Jose chameleon (UG) 18 ( 0.78 % ), Queen zipporah (TZ) 983 ( 42.74 % ), Director mareys (TZ) 9 (0.39 % ), Geosteady (UG) 16 ( 0.7 % ), John Frog (SOUTH SUDAN ) 6 ( 0.26 % )
On the other hand, Tanzania’s musician Paul Mihambo won the Must watch talent category. Paul was in the race with Omutume planet (UG), Lady kola (South Sudan), Tom dee (UG), Vyroota (UG), DEVOSH BBS TV (UG), Mtwa rifle (TZ), Chillaxy beats (TZ), McSan Mr finelines and Royal Simba (UG).
The awards which are sponsored by Royal Roots studios, Metro Fm and Xavier Radio are held every after three months and this is the third edition.
According Xavier Marketing Agency Chief Executive Director, the organizer of the awards also a radio personality Male Deogratius alias Omusawo Tintah Deogratius, the awards are aimed at supporting East African artistes who never get the chance to be appreciated in a period of three months of their hard work.
“Music has changed over time. Lately, an artiste will get a hit but before you know it, the song is no longer a hit after three months. I believe its time artists are appreciate when they are still hot unlike the rest of the awards that happen once a year,” said Male Deogratius.
The awards will be presented to the winning artists and there will not be an event ceremony held.
