The Iganga district Woman Member of parliament Kauma Sauda Alibawo through her project code named “Funa Akamwenu mukulima ni Alibawo” has donated farming support tools and seedlings to Over 1000 households in Iganga District as support to them in this planting season.

Among those who received the hoes include women, elderly men and youth that are engaged in various projects like vegetable growing, commercial farming and brick laying.
While officiating the launch in Nakigo Sub County in Bunama Village Hon. Kauma urged the beneficiaries to start production on large scale since with small scale there is less production thus some ending up starving.

“If our people change to commercial farming just like the president is emphasizing it will help us fight food insecurities in homes since there will be availability of enough food for substance use and commercial use. With large scale farming government has assisted us with plaughing tractors to enable us do large scale production which we managed to lobby from the ministry of Agriculture to simplify the workers of farmers who do large scale farming.”

Various Beneficiaries who received the support including Naigaga Zaituni have expressed joy saying that the tools will assist them in garden activities to keep them busy in wealth creation activities.
The items donated by Hon. Kauma include: Hoes, Maize and Vegetable seedlings among others.
