Bishop Kibuuka speaks out on gun violence as CECU Unveils martyr’s day celebration program

The Chairperson of Christian Ecumenical Council of Uganda [CECU] who is also the presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka has condemned the ongoing gun violence in Uganda and urged the public to turn to God amidst all the challenges, confusions, worries, vengeance, injustice, anger since he is the ultimate answer. 

Bishop Kibuuka said that it’s disturbing to see people losing hope and turning away from God since it only creates problems and uncertainties in the country.

Bishop Kibuuka made the remarks while unveiling the arrangement for the celebrations of the Martyrs day slated for 3rd, June at Mamre International Prayer Centre at Namugongo, Janda, Kira Municipality, Wakiso district.  

Evangelical Orthodox Church will lead the six religions in the celebrations for the Martyrs day this year at Mamre International Prayer Centre.

The celebrations will start with the deliverance and healing overnight prayers on the night of 2nd, June which will be led by Bishop Jacinto Kibuuka and the d. day on 3rd June the Martyrs’ celebrations will start at 9am.

So far over 30 pilgrims have arrived at Mamre prayer Centre and according to bishop Kibuuka they expect over 3000 people on the day, 30 bishops and 60 priests from different countries.

The religions that unite under CECU include: Evangelical Orthodox Church, Charismatic Episcopal Church, Worldwide Anglican Church, Brazilian Catholic Church and Orthodox Anglican Church
