The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) electoral commission led by its Chairman Toterebuka Bamwenda has on Thursday afternoon duly nominated the incumbent president, Mr. Patrick Amuriat, and the Secretary-General Mr. Nandala Mafabi to contest for the same positions.

The party electoral commission also nominated Moses Byamugisha to run for the party president while the Former Member of Parliament for Rukiga County Hon. Jack Sabiti and Former Makindye East legislator Hon. Ibrahim Kasozi to contest for party Chairman an office currently occupied by Ambassador Wasswa Birigwa and Organizing secretary respectively.

The party is set to conduct its elections for the National Executive Committee leadership on October 6.

The nomination ceremony was attended by a crowd of FDC supporters who gathered at the party offices in Najjanankumbi to show their support for the nominated candidates with chants of their names.

Speaking shortly after being nominated, Nandala rushed at those who opt for back door methods to get position as opposed to using democracy

“I and the entire Najjanankumbi team strongly believe in democracy and not back door politics and that’s why I was elected in 2015 as the Secretary-General and have since served diligently. In FDC we believe in democracy, we do not believe in passing through windows”, Nandala said.
