In a move to cause legitimization of his flawed Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) factionary leadership, Kampala city lord mayor Erias Lukwago on Sunday 1 October 2023, held a meeting with a few of his Katonga road camp stalwarts at his home in Wakaliga-Lubaga division to strategize on how to achieve their planned takeover of the party headquarters at Najjanankumbi along Ntebbe road, according to insiders in Lukwago’s camp.
The meeting which was concluded on Monday 2 October 2023 at the lord mayor’s KCCA office at city hall in Kampala was attended by the commander of the deadly youthful Kikankane group; Ssebuggwawo, former Kawempe North councilor Muhammad Mutazindwa commonly known as Sweet Cake, former Nakawa MP Micheal Kabaziguruka, Amata Agatafa from Kawempe, Lukwago’s deputy Doreen Nyanjura and his personal assistant Kennedy Okello, according to sources.
Insiders told this website that the Kikankane group planned activities are being coordinated by the former Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa popularly known as Mugaati gwa bata.
Sources say that during the same encounter, Lukwago ordered for urgent mobilization of 300 goons locally to mean kifeesi under the command of Ssebuggwawo to enforce their plan of ousting the sitting party leadership under the principals; Nathan Nandala Mafabi and Patrick Oboi Amuriat and forcefully occupy the building thereafter.
It has emerged from the highly placed sources that Lukwago committed to pay 100,000 shillings to each of the kikankane recruits, while 1 million shillings to the group’s commander Ssebuggwawo to have the mission well executed.
Lukwago according to the sources emphasized to the kifeesi why it was very important for them to ensure that the mission is successfully executed, since it is the only way of enabling his factionary leadership with flaws arising out of the violated court injunction that stopped the September 19 th 2023 extra delegates conference out of which his leadership emerged, to have a political standing.
An interim order was issued by the high court judge Esther Nambayo following an application filed by the two FDC party members Jamal Wante and others against three respondents; FDC Party, its president Oboi and Secretary General Mafabi, seeking stay of the impugned extra ordinary delegates conference.
During a press conference held on Monday 2 October 2023 at Dr. Kiiza Besigye’s Katonga road offices, the lord mayor who was flanked by Micheal Kabaziguruka, Harold Kaija, among others, announced a weeklong series of activities organized by his splinter group in countering the October 6th FDC new NEC member’s election at Patidar Samaj grounds in Lugogo, including among other things, hosting the youths and women meeting on Thursday 5 th 2023 at Katonga road offices to reflect on a number of issues at stake.
But the sources allege that it is the hired goons (kifeesi) that will be incorporated in the same meeting from after which they will be prepared for their strategic assignment at Najjanankumbi and Patidar Samaj grounds to face off with the party members who are not loyal to their politics.
This website has also been told by the sources that the game plan is to ensure that the forthcoming final FDC NEC leadership elections does not happen, since it will be the last nail hammering their coffin politically as reflected in their failure to have taken part in the party’s structure elections that started in July 2023 and ended in early September.
It should be noted that the term for office of all the FDC elected leaders ends on October 8th 2023, which necessitates an urgent election of new bearers to cure any possible leadership crisis in the blue party that would result into its annihilation by the regulator
