In a pioneering initiative, the Assistant District Election Administrator ADEA/ Returning Officer Kawempe Division Rehemah Nassuna took the lead in fostering civic engagement through an extensive Voter Education campaign in Mulago II and Makerere I Parish. The campaign, marked by its strategic outreach, targeted key community members, ensuring that the message of democracy resonated with various segments of society.

Engaging the Streets:
Boda boda riders, the heartbeat of local transportation, found themselves at the forefront of this educational drive. Clad in distinctive EC reflector jackets, these riders became not just ambassadors of safe travel but also champions of democratic participation.

Marketplace Empowerment:
Market stall owners and vendors, purveyors of life’s essentials, were not left behind. Donned in branded EC aprons, they not only embraced their roles as economic contributors but also as informed voters. From bananas to tomatoes, their stalls became platforms for both sustenance and civic knowledge.

Spare Parting with Ignorance:
Spare part shop owners, essential to the thriving local economy, were not overlooked. Armed with voter education books and reflector jackets, they became well-versed in the power of their choices, adding an informed perspective to their trade.

Furniture Mart Inclusion:
Owners of Furniture Mart stores, key players in the community, joined the initiative by donning EC reflector jackets. Their involvement added a valuable dimension to the campaign, emphasizing the importance of an informed electorate.

Weathering Democracy:
Even traffic police officers, under the scorching sun or rain, received a thoughtful touch. Equipped with branded EC umbrellas, they not only directed traffic but also became symbols of electoral awareness. Voter education books further fortified their understanding of the democratic process.
Dressing the Part:
Butchers, responsible for the community’s protein needs, proudly sported branded T-shirts and caps, embodying a commitment to both their trade and the electoral process.
A Visual Symphony:

The vibrant campaign was visually captured through a series of compelling pictures, showcasing the diversity of participants and the impact of the initiatives. From bustling marketplaces to the busy streets, these images tell a story of a community coming together for a common cause – a stronger, more informed democracy.
In these parishes, the echo of the ADEA Kawempe Division Rehemah Nassuna’s efforts will reverberate long after the campaign banners have been taken down. The community, now equipped with knowledge and a sense of duty, is primed to step into the future as informed and engaged citizens.
