Victoria University has eulogized the demise of one of the founding chancellor Dr. Martin Jerome Okec Aliker who died at the age of 95.
Dr. Aliker was born on 21st October 1928 and died yesterday 15th April 2024.

He served as a chancellor of Victoria University from 2013-2019.
During his tenure as the chancellor, Professor John Opuda-Asibo who replaced him as the third chancellor of Victoria University advised them to work hard since this is the only way for one to be independent.
He spoke on the late as a businessman, communicator, gentleman and he had known him for his work and investing wisely.

Prof.Opuda emphasized that he started from where he stopped with key pillars he guided that include independent, patient ,hopeful, succeed with persistence in life and being a leader who gives hope to people.
The vice chancellor of Victoria University Prof. Lawrence Muganga revealed to the press that the late worked tirelessly during the initial stages of Victoria University as a chancellor who was trustworthy, dedicated to his work and ensure that everyone benefits from his sweat.
He vowed to continue celebrating Dr. Aliker’s legacy that has sharped the lives of many people in this country.
Before his death Dr. Aliker served on many boards of various companies that include Uganda breweries, Stanbic bank, coca-cola among others.
