The Democratic Front Electoral Commission has set the 26th and 27th of this month as the nomination dates for the party’s aspiring candidates from the Masaka subregion.
The party’s Electoral Commission Chairperson and Secretary for Mobilization, Henry Lubowa, announced this development while speaking to the media at the party headquarters in Namirembe.

Lubowa noted that the two-day exercise, which falls on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, will cover all the districts that make up Greater Masaka.
The targeted districts are Masaka City, Masaka Rural, Kalungu, Lwengo, Kyotera, Rakai, Lyantonde, Bukomansimbi, and Ssembabule.
After Greater Masaka, the commission will move to the Acholi subregion on Friday next week to nominate aspiring candidates from Acholi, Lango, and West Nile according to Mr Henry Lubowa
Lubowa mentioned that the nomination exercise is scheduled to close by the end of this month to give ample time for the party’s branches to conduct thorough scrutiny of the nominated candidates in order to select the best candidates that the party will present to the National Electoral Commission for nomination.

These developments were announced on the sidelines of today’s nomination exercise at the party’s headquarters, where a number of aspiring candidates turned up for nomination.
This included over 20 aspirants from the Teso subregion, many of whom switched from NRM and FDC to seek the party’s endorsement for several local government positions such as sub-county chairpersons, town council mayors, and councilors.
The Teso region delegation were led by the party’s Deputy President for Eastern regional who’s also vying for the Soroti East parliamentary seat on the DF ticket.
Additionally, the commission nominated over 10 aspirants from Butambala district, led by Nakiboneka Faridah, who is aspiring for the Butambala District Chairperson position.
In the same development, the DF Electoral Commission received interest forms and nominated several aspirants from the Luweero region, led by Mr. Ronald Kasagga Bazannyanengo, who is vying for the Katikamu North Parliamentary seat in Luweero district.
