Justine Nameere Records Statement at CPS as Both Suspect and Complainant in Assault Case Involving Full Figure

By Robert Segawa

Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) at the Central Police Station (CPS) Kampala have today recorded statements from Justine Nameere, both as a suspect and a complainant in an ongoing assault and theft case.

Nameere, accompanied by her lawyer, reported to CPS at around 11 a.m. following a police summons issued by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Moses Talemwa, the current Commandant of CID at KMP.

The case stems from an alleged incident on August 29, 2025, along Kyadondo Road, where singer and presidential advisor Jennifer Namutebi Nakangubi, popularly known as Full Figure, was reportedly attacked by a group of unknown men while heading to a press conference at a hotel. The event was organized by Central Executive Committee contestant Moses Kalangwa.

Full Figure alleges that Justine Nameere, the NRM flag bearer for Masaka District Woman MP seat, and her husband were involved in the assault, during which her phone and Shs500,000 were allegedly stolen.

KMP spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirmed that Nameere had reported to CID as both suspect and complainant. “Yes, Nameere appeared and recorded a statement not only as a suspect but also lodged a counter-complaint against Jennifer Namutebi Nakangubi, accusing her of verbally abusing her, her husband, children, and even her parents,” Onyango said.

He added: “We appeal to any member of the public who has a complaint against Full Figure to report to KMP with a reference number and submit their statement at the designated desk.”

The alleged assault gained public attention after a video began circulating on social media, showing Nakangubi being kicked by two men as bystanders looked on.

Nameere was accompanied to the station by fellow singer and presidential advisor Catherine Kusasira, events promoter Abbey Musinguzi alias Abitex, and a group of supporters who were stopped outside the quarter guard and not allowed into the station premises.
