Former Entebbe Municipal Council engineer, Jonnie Yebaza, is embroiled in a bitter property dispute with his wife, Harriet Semasaazi Yebaza.

The couple, who got married on November 8, 1997, have five children and several grandchildren. Harriet, a qualified nurse who graduated in 1992, worked briefly at Entebbe Grade B Hospital for six months before Yebaza reportedly stopped her from continuing her career. Since then, she has been a housewife, a decision she now regrets, citing a lack of appreciation from her husband despite her years of loyalty and obedience.

Their property wrangle dates back to 2018. One key turning point came when Yebaza sold a house in Nsamizi and asked Harriet to relocate with him to Mbarara District. Harriet declined and instead moved into their matrimonial home in Manyago, a move that reportedly angered Yebaza.

The situation escalated when Harriet leased part of the Manyago land to a Chinese national without Yebaza’s consent. In response, Yebaza filed a case against her at the Entebbe Court, accusing her of trespassing on his property. The legal action has left Harriet distressed and allegedly sleepless over the unfolding events.

Yebaza has also instructed his children to take care of their mother but warned them to stay away from his property. This stance has reportedly left their grown children emotionally affected and confused.

The matter is currently before the Entebbe Assistant High Court Registrar, Her Worship Stella Maris Amabilis.
