Police Launch Manhunt for Land Broker Kamoga in Massive Forgery and Land Fraud Case

By Robert Segawa

The Uganda Police Force has launched an intensive manhunt for Kamoga Muhamad, a 40-year-old land broker and resident of Bugabo–Garuga, Katabi Town Council in Wakiso District, who is wanted in connection with multiple charges of forgery, uttering false documents, and obtaining registration by false pretence.

According to ASP Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, the suspect faces 14 criminal charges under Criminal Case No. ENT-00-CR-CO-0836-2023 currently before the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Entebbe. These include; 9 counts of forgery, 3 counts of uttering false documents and 2 counts of obtaining registration by false pretence. All the charges are in violation of the Penal Code Act, Cap 128.

Investigations reveal that between February and May 2021, Kamoga allegedly forged land transfer forms and a practicing certificate for advocates, which were later used to fraudulently acquire land registration for property on Busiro Block 435 and other plots, through the Wakiso Lands Office.

A warrant of arrest has been issued by His Worship Tibayeita Edgar Tusiime, Senior Magistrate Grade I, ordering the immediate arrest and production of the suspect before court.

The Police are now urging Kamoga Muhamad to surrender to the nearest police station or appear before the Chief Magistrate’s Court of Entebbe without further delay.

“We also urge members of the public who may have information on his whereabouts to report it confidentially at any police station or through our toll-free lines,” said ASP Owoyesigyire. “The Uganda Police Force remains committed to bringing all perpetrators of land fraud and forgery to justice.”
