The National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has outlined the party’s development agenda for Nebbi District and the greater West Nile sub-region, emphasizing key achievements and pledging continued progress if re-elected.

Speaking at a campaign rally held at Namrwodho Primary School playgrounds in Nebbi District, General Museveni detailed several infrastructural and social development projects spearheaded by the NRM government. These include the Karuma–Koboko tarmac highway, the Nebbi power substation—credited with connecting the entire West Nile sub-region to the national electricity grid—and the construction of common user facilities intended to boost local economic activity.

General Museveni also highlighted key social services already established in the district:
- 89 government primary schools
- 8 government secondary schools
- 4 seed secondary schools
- 18 billion shillings disbursed under the Parish Development Model (PDM) to 63 parishes, impacting over 20,000 households
- Health centers now present in most parishes across the district
He further committed to addressing gaps in service delivery, particularly in the six remaining parishes lacking health facilities and primary schools. The President assured voters of increased funding under the Parish Development Model in his next term, aimed at uplifting rural households through enterprise and infrastructure development.

As part of wealth creation strategies, President Museveni promised to launch pisciculture projects for the youth and communities living along the Nile, citing fish farming as a viable economic venture. He encouraged residents to invest their PDM funds in profitable activities as outlined in the NRM manifesto.
The NRM presidential candidate also announced plans for the rollout of Graduate Support Funds across Uganda’s 19 zones, targeting organized sectoral groups such as parish leaders, religious institutions, and fishing communities.

Museveni reminded the electorate of the foundational achievements of the NRM government—peace and security—urging voters to safeguard these gains by voting NRM at all levels in the upcoming general elections.
Accompanying the President, First Lady Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni called on Nebbi residents to vote for a peaceful and stable Uganda. She stressed that elections should be a time for reflection on national progress, citing peace and stability across the West Nile sub-region under the stewardship of General Museveni.

NRM Vice Chairperson for Northern Uganda, Dennis Hamson Obua, also addressed the crowd, comparing the current field of presidential candidates and asserting that General Museveni stands out based on a proven track record.
George Kermundu Adubango, the NRM chairperson for Nebbi District, enumerated the party’s achievements in the area, including electricity connection, road networks, education, health facilities, and the successful implementation of the PDM. He expressed confidence that with continued NRM leadership, Nebbi would receive more government support to address the remaining development gaps.
