President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has highlighted the seven core contributions of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government toward Uganda’s socioeconomic transformation, assuring Ugandans of continued qualitative progress in the years ahead.

The President made the remarks during a media interaction at Mbale State Lodge on Saturday night, emphasizing that the NRM manifesto encapsulates all of Uganda’s national aspirations and maintains a clear edge over competing political platforms.
The Seven Core Contributions of the NRM Government include; Peace and Security, Development, Wealth Creation, Job Creation, Market Expansion – Regional and Beyond, Political Integration of East Africa and Strategic Security
President Museveni reaffirmed Uganda’s industrialization drive as a major engine for job creation, citing the Namanve Industrial Park, Mbale Industrial Park, and the planned Busobo Industrial Park in Manafwa District as key examples of this transformative agenda.

President Museveni also urged residents in landslide-prone areas of the Elgon subregion to revise their settlement and land utilization plans. He noted that poor land management practices have exposed many communities to recurring environmental disasters such as landslides.
He revealed that several recommendations have been made to address these challenges and ensure safer settlement practices across the mountainous areas.
The President announced that he has deployed teams to investigate the use of road maintenance funds after witnessing substandard works in some local governments, despite each district receiving UGX 1.3 billion annually for road maintenance.
President Museveni further unmasked opposition politicians allegedly collaborating with foreign actors to destabilize Uganda.
He confirmed the arrest of two Kenyan nationals who had entered the country to train rioters in coordination with opposition figures. He praised the swift response of Uganda’s intelligence agencies and cautioned citizens to remain vigilant against such foreign-sponsored schemes, citing similar experiences in neighboring Tanzania.
To counter manipulation by foreign agents, President Museveni directed NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong to intensify patriotism training programs, particularly targeting the youth.
He also announced plans for a Graduate Support Fund, which will be implemented zonal-wise as part of the broader socioeconomic empowerment strategy under the Parish Development Model. This initiative will complement other funds aimed at supporting cultural, religious, parish, and sectoral leaders.

President Museveni reiterated his commitment to supporting coffee value addition in the Elgon subregion to improve farmers’ incomes and Uganda’s position in the global coffee market.
He encouraged farmers to adopt better management and value addition practices, noting that strategic investments in the coffee sector would further enhance Uganda’s export earnings.
In conclusion, President Museveni assured Ugandans of a robust and capable security system ready to neutralize any threats that may emerge in the post-election period, reinforcing his message of peace, stability, and continued progress.
