The Kampala Metropolitan Police have revealed that new crucial clues are emerging in the alleged murder of Nalubwama Caroline, who sustained severe burn injuries at the residence of Brian Kirumira, popularly known as Brian White.
The incident occurred last month in Kyamula, along Salaama Road in Makindye Division.

According to Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Police Spokesperson for Kampala Metropolitan, preliminary investigations indicate that the incident happened on October 22, but the case was not reported to police until October 27, suggesting a delay in notifying authorities.
Owoyesigyire said that on the fateful day, Nalubwama was first admitted to Mabirizi Clinic in the same area before being referred to Kiruddu Hospital for further treatment. However, before she could be transferred, a woman identified as Nambalirwa Joyce Irene allegedly withheld her from leaving the clinic, demanding payment for medical bills that the caretaker could not afford. Nambalirwa is said to have confiscated the caretaker’s laptop and other personal belongings until payment was made.
Police believe that the delay in transferring Nalubwama to Kiruddu Hospital may have worsened her condition and ultimately contributed to her death — an act they describe as medical negligence.

So far, four suspects have been arrested in connection with the case, including Nambalirwa Joyce Irene, who faces charges of negligence causing death. The other suspects are Abaho Dafini, reportedly Brian White’s girlfriend, and two housemaids identified as Nalunga Daisy and Nakato Nava, who allegedly provided false information about the date of the incident — claiming it occurred on October 24 instead of October 22.
Owoyesigyire has called on the Ministry of Health to strengthen supervision and enforcement of medical workers’ responsibilities to prevent similar incidents of neglect that endanger the lives of innocent Ugandans.
Meanwhile, Brian Kirumira remains admitted at Mildmay Hospital along Entebbe Road under police watch as investigations into the alleged gas explosion at his residence continue.
