The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has pledged to engage the Attorney General to fast-track the operationalization of the newly created districts carved out of Tororo.

General Museveni stated that the districts were duly approved and emphasized the need to expedite any pending procedures. He made the remarks during an NRM Presidential campaign rally at Lions Children’s Park in Tororo District.

During the rally, the NRM flag bearer reiterated his opposition to the levying of fees in government schools and urged voters to join him in fighting the practice. He also encouraged the people of Busia to embrace industrial skilling hub programmes that promote free education and empower youth with practical skills.

General Museveni further announced that the tarmacking of the Tororo–Nagongera–Busolwe–Busaba road will be fully funded by the Government of Uganda, with the work plan already set for implementation. He cited several other major road projects in Tororo District as key economic infrastructure that continue to support business growth.

Highlighting the NRM government’s achievements, the President noted significant progress in rural electrification across Tororo District. He also pointed out various socio-economic transformation strides, including the establishment of 164 government primary schools and 19 government secondary schools.

In the health sector, General Museveni outlined accomplishments registered in Tororo and revealed plans to upgrade existing facilities and construct more health centers to improve service delivery.

He concluded by guiding residents on wealth-creation strategies, emphasizing profitable sectors that can uplift household incomes and drive sustainable development.
