The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Presidential Candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has called on residents of Kabale District to adopt proper land-use practices to boost individual and household wealth.

Speaking at the NRM Presidential campaign rally held at the Kigezi High School Lower Playgrounds, Museveni noted that increasing urbanisation has led to shrinking land holdings per household in Kabale. This, he said, requires well-planned implementation of wealth-creation enterprises guided by the NRM’s model, including poultry, dairy farming, piggery, coffee, fish farming, and the Four-Acre Model.
Museveni emphasized that the NRM government has developed a comprehensive wealth-creation strategy suitable for all Ugandans, supported by numerous success stories across the country. He advised the people of Kabale and the Greater Kigezi Sub-Region to reject sectarianism and divisions, saying that a progressive mindset is essential for wealth creation.

During the rally, Museveni highlighted the vast opportunities available to residents through the NRM’s wealth-creation initiatives. He cited examples of successful wealth creators and urged the community to emulate them, stressing that “wealthy minds rise above sectarian tendencies.”

The NRM Presidential candidate also outlined key infrastructural developments achieved by the NRM government in Kabale District, including several tarmac roads that have boosted economic growth. He promised further improvements in the next term.
Museveni reminded the people of Kigezi of the value of the peace and stability currently enjoyed in the region, noting that development thrives in peaceful environments. He rallied Kabale residents to vote for the NRM in the upcoming general elections to safeguard past achievements and propel Uganda towards attaining upper-middle-income status.

He further explained the NRM’s industrial town concept, describing it as a massive job-creation strategy that will be expanded in the next term. He referenced industrial parks such as Namanve, Mbale, Mukono, and Kapeeka, which have collectively created over 1.3 million jobs nationwide.
Museveni cautioned Kabale voters against “confused opposition politicians” who lack strategic direction, urging them instead to support the NRM for continued development and socio-economic transformation.
Graduates from the Presidential Industrial Skilling Hub in Kabale testified during the rally about how the free vocational training initiative has transformed their lives. Their success stories demonstrated the potential of universal free education, a policy Museveni encouraged residents to defend.

He reiterated his commitment to advancing commercial agriculture for both small and large landowners and offered guidance on effective land utilisation for wealth creation.
Museveni challenged Kabale residents to be visionary and take advantage of wealth-creation initiatives. He revealed plans to establish industries in Kabale and Rubanda to add value to the region’s iron ore deposits by producing refined steel. This will mirror the existing steel factory in Tororo District, pending the allocation of 150 acres of land required for the project.
