The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party Presidential Candidate, General Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, has unveiled a comprehensive plan to boost the cattle industry and guided farmers in Kazo District, Ankore Sub-region, to adopt modern cattle-rearing practices aimed at maximizing household income.

While addressing supporters at the NRM presidential campaign rally at Kazo Model Primary School Playgrounds, Gen. Museveni cited several successful dairy farmers who have embraced modern agricultural methods—among them Joseph Ijara from Serere District, Richard Nyakana of Fort Portal, and several others in the Ankore Sub-region—who have significantly increased profits through improved dairy farming practices.
Gen. Museveni guided cattle farmers in Kazo District on untapped profitability opportunities that can be integrated into their farm management plans. He cautioned families against land fragmentation, urging them instead to form family companies to protect and grow their wealth.

The NRM presidential candidate advised the electorate of Kazo District to diversify their income sources by venturing into viable commercial enterprises. He listed several lucrative options suitable for both small- and large-scale landowners, including dairy farming, poultry production, fruit growing, fish farming, and other enterprises that support household wealth creation.
During the rally, Gen. Museveni showcased several examples of successful wealth-creation models that residents can emulate.
He also confirmed government plans to tarmac the 156km Kazo–Burunga–Kabugore–Mpara–Kyegegwa–Apuyu Road, noting that the contractor has already been identified and that implementation is pending commencement.

In the health sector, he announced the elevation of Kazo Health Centre IV to a District General Hospital, along with upgrades for several other health facilities to improve healthcare delivery in the district.
Gen. Museveni further revealed a strategy to draw water from the Katonga River to enhance piped water access across Kazo District. The initiative is part of broader infrastructure developments including electricity expansion and improved telecommunications services.
The NRM presidential candidate also called on the people of Kazo District to embrace unity for sustainable peace. He elaborated the NRM’s job-creation plan built on commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services, and ICT, emphasizing youth skilling as a key driver of employment.
Gen. Museveni highlighted what he termed his competitive advantage over other presidential candidates.

The rally was attended by over 10 opposition political party leaders, a development which NRM Secretary General Richard Todwong said reflects the country’s growing democracy and cordial interparty relations. Todwong listed all the ten opposition parties represented at the event.
The NRM Second National Vice Chairperson (Female) Anita Among outlined several development interventions budgeted for Kazo District, while the NRM Vice Chairperson for Western Region, Jornad Asiimwe, called for unity among supporters in the district.
Former Minister of Works and Transport John Nasasira presented the NRM scorecard for Kazo District, and the NRM Kazo District Chairperson Wilson Keija read the district status report.
