Following the conclusion of the Local Council elections for City Division and Municipality Mayors across the country, Trusted News Uganda has compiled a comprehensive list of candidates who emerged victorious in Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and Wakiso District, along with their respective political parties.

In Kampala, voters delivered a mixed political outcome across the five city divisions. Salim Saad Uhuru of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) was elected Mayor of Kampala Central Division. Nakawa Division was won by National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Ali Buken, popularly known as Nubian Li, while Dr. Emmanuel Sserunjoji, also of NUP, secured victory in Kawempe Division. Lubaga Division was taken by NUP’s Mberaze Mawula Zacchy.
Makindye Division saw NRM’s Yasin Omar declared winner unopposed after the Electoral Commission disqualified 11 other aspirants for failing to meet the required number of supporting signatures.

In Wakiso District, the four municipality mayoral races were largely dominated by the NRM, with one key opposition win. Fabrice Rulinda (NRM) emerged victorious in Entebbe Municipality, Allan Bulamu (NRM) clinched the Kira Municipality seat, and Bosco Galabuzi (NRM) won in Makindye Ssabagabo Municipality. Nansana Municipality was taken by National Unity Platform’s John Bosco Sserunkuma, popularly known as Kaana Ka Mbaata.
The results reflect continued political competition between the ruling NRM and the opposition NUP in the Kampala metropolitan area, setting the stage for closely watched leadership dynamics at both city and municipal levels in the coming term.
