FUFA fines police FC chairperson Afande Kasingye 2.5m for misconduct

By Mukembo Wilfred

The Federation of Uganda Football Association (FUFA) Disciplinary and Ethics committee has condemned the chairperson of Police FC Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Asan Kasingye to 2.5 million shillings payable within 30 days for making defamatory statement.

“Mr. Asan Kasingye is sanctioned with;

A minimum fine of UGX 2.5M ( Two Million Five Hundred Thousand Uganda Shillings Only) under Article 39 (3) and Article 40 (2) of the FUFA Ethics Code. The fine must be paid within thirty (30) days from receipt of the decision.” Read the statement

The FUFA Ethics and Disciplinary Committee ruled that AIGP Kasingye violated Article 39(2) of the FUFA Ethics Code which provides that; Persons bound by this Code are forbidden from making any public statements of a defamatory nature towards FUFA and /or towards any other person bound by this code in the context of FUFA events.

The sanctions follow the controversial allegations made by Kasingye on social media including compromise of referees after his team police fc lost to Viper Fc to 3-2 and his protest to the red card given to the club’s goal keeper Derrick Ochan on the 19th February.

The committee also cautioned Kasingye of an automatic six months ban from all football related activities both Nationally and Internationally  in the event that he commits any other specified unethical conduct against match officials or club officials or in case he fails to furnish proof of payment of the fine.
