Three individuals have been arrested over allegations of forgery during police recruitment exercises, according to police spokesperson ACP Rusoke Kituuma.

The suspects include Charles Bakole and Lazy Hillary, also known as Vuruku Hillary Sorry, who were apprehended at the Yumbe Police Recruitment Centre, as well as Kenneth Tumusiime, arrested during police training ahead of a recent pass-out of probationer police constables (PPCs).
Bakole is accused of altering his academic grades from D to B to meet the recruitment threshold, while Vuruku allegedly used forged National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) documents to change his identity from Lazy Hillary to Vuruku Hillary Sorry.
“We nabbed two fellows. They are being investigated and will go through court,” said ACP Kituuma.

In a related case, Kenneth Tumusiime reportedly impersonated his brother, Moses Tumusiime, who failed to attend the recruitment interview. Kenneth is said to have taken advantage of his brother’s absence, swearing an affidavit to assume his identity. He was later discovered and is now detained at Masindi Police Station on charges including forgery and impersonation.
“Anyone who uses fraudulent means will eventually be discovered and will be escorted through courts of law,” warned ACP Kituuma.
He further urged institutions to thoroughly verify all applicants, stressing that individuals who gain employment through deceit pose a serious risk.
