KACITA Chairman Dr. Musoke Thadeus Dismisses Claims of His Resignation, Labels Muyenga Meeting Unconstitutional and Non-Binding

By Kabuye Ronald
The Chairperson of KACITA Uganda, Dr. Thadeus Musoke Nagenda, has urged the public to disregard documents circulating on social media labeling the recent breakfast meeting held at Hotel International Muyenga as an “Extraordinary Meeting.”

In a press statement released on Sunday, Dr. Musoke clarified that the meeting in question, allegedly convened under the authority of Haji Issa Sekitto, was in fact a harmonization gathering and not in any way aligned with the procedural requirements set forth in the KACITA Uganda Constitution under Article 18 for convening an extraordinary meeting.

“The breakfast meeting held on August 14, 2025, chaired by H.E. Kirumira Godfrey, was attended by former board members and my self, but it does not meet the constitutional standards of an extraordinary meeting,” Dr. Musoke stated. “Therefore, its resolutions are not binding on the association.”

Dr. Musoke further disclosed that the legitimate acting executive board, during its meeting held on August 15 at KACITA offices, unanimously resolved to decline and opt out of all resolutions passed at the Muyenga breakfast meeting. Among the key grounds for rejection was the fact that the resolutions attempted to overturn decisions already passed in the valid extraordinary meeting held on August 9, 2025 ,  including the confirmation of Dr. Musoke as Acting Chairperson and the election of a substantive interim committee until the Annual General Meeting scheduled for December 5, 2025.

He emphasized that any leadership transition within the association must be guided by the constitution and take place at the designated AGM.

Addressing public speculation, Dr. Musoke also clarified his political position: “I have no political aspirations for 2026. Following my loss in the NRM primaries, my full focus remains on serving the business community diligently.”

In a bid to resolve ongoing leadership disputes and unify the association, the acting board has resolved to formally seek an urgent appointment with KACITA Patron, H.E. Kirumira Godfrey, to discuss clear and constitutionally guided harmonization strategies.

“The KACITA Uganda offices remain open and committed to serving the business community,” Dr. Musoke added. “As acting Chairman, I remain committed to upholding the rule of law, transparency, and the democratic principles upon which KACITA was built. I call upon the public to disregard all communications from unauthorized individuals claiming authority within the association.”
