District and City Speakers from across the country have unanimously declared their support for the candidature of Rt Hon Anita Among for the position of Second National Vice Chairperson (Female). They cited her exceptional ability to mobilize and unite the party as a key reason for their endorsement.
The declaration was made this afternoon after the Speakers presented a petition to the Rt Hon Speaker, calling for stronger engagement between Parliament and local government leaders. The petition emphasized the need for enhanced parliamentary support to improve the administration of cities and districts, as well as to strengthen oversight of government programs.
In response, Speaker Among pledged to present the petition before Parliament and committed to seeking an audience with H.E. the President to advocate for improved facilitation and support for District and City Speakers in fulfilling their oversight responsibilities.
