By Robert Segawa

The Uganda Police Force has arrested Hillary Byaruhanga, a 28-year-old security guard employed by Donwal Security Company, in connection with the murder of his employer.

The victim, identified as Antony Mutinisa, a 53-year-old businessman and proprietor of Mutinisa Motors Uganda, was reportedly shot and killed instantly by Byaruhanga using a firearm. The incident occurred at Mutinisa Motors and Driving School in Ntinda.

According to police spokesperson Kituuma Rusoke, Byaruhanga was arrested alongside another suspect, Akampa Mark. The two were intercepted while traveling in a stolen vehicle, a Toyota with registration number UA 769 BQ, which belonged to the deceased.

The suspects were apprehended in Lutwe Cell, Kihihi Town Council, Kanungu District. Police believe Byaruhanga shot Mutinisa in cold blood on Sunday evening before fleeing the scene with the victim’s vehicle.

During a press briefing at the Police Headquarters in Naguru, Deputy Police Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire revealed that the suspect also made off with a bag containing an unspecified amount of cash and other important documents.

Both suspects are currently detained at Kira Road Police Station as investigations continue.
