Presideent Museveni weekly sunday national live addresses start today

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will effectively today Sunday start doing weekly television and radio live addresses every Sunday at 7pm until up to the end of the campaign period.

The arrangement has been confirmed by a tweet of the senior presidential press secretary Don Wanyama president

“The theme for this Sunday’s address is ‘Security and Economic Recovery’,” and will be broadcasted live on all mainstream broadcast media houses.

The death of nearly 50 people due to violent action following the arrest of National Unity Platform (NUP) party presidential candidate Mr Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party presidential candidate Mr Patrick Amuriat on Wednesday November 18th might have prompted President Museveni to start with the security theme.

It should be noted that the presidential addresses were set to start last sunday but it was deferred.

after the deferment the National Association of Broadcasters sought clarification from the regulators Uganda Communication Commission on how to differentiate between mr. Yoweri Kaguta address as a president and as candidate which led to the two parties meeting and sorting out the matter.
