Kabaka condemns violence, calls for inquiry into Pro- bobi protesters’ killings

The Kabaka of Buganda kingdom, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II has called for quick inquiry into the violence that led to the death of over 50 people and leaving scores severely injured following the arrest of National Unity Platform (NUP ) presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine on the 18th November in Luuka district

Kabaka Mwenda Mutebi condemned the excessive brutality used by the police and the army quell the riots which resulted into the killing of people.

He related the incidents to those that happened in the 1945 saying they should not be taken lightly thus a call for a quick inquiry into them and bringing the culprits to book.

Kabaka Mutebi made the remarks while concluding this year’ virtual Airtel Kabaka Birthday run.

He applauded his subjects for the continued participation in the run which is held to celebrate his birthday and helping in health initiatives.

More than 20,000 people across Buganda Kingdom participated in the annual Airtel Kabaka Birthday Run that seeks to benefit the fight against HIV and AIDS
