NCBA Bank Uganda Renews Commitment to Support Students with Disabilities at Makerere University

NCBA Bank Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Makerere University by providing specialized assistive technology and learning tools for students living with disabilities.

The announcement was made on Wednesday by NCBA Bank Uganda Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Mark Anthony Muyobo, during the launch of the Makerere University Marathon 2026 held on September 27, 2026.

Muyobo said this year’s marathon is expected to be the largest since its inception, with more than 10 running groups anticipated to participate. He noted that the event continues to grow as a platform for promoting inclusion while mobilizing resources to support students with disabilities.

Makerere University Vice Chancellor, Prof. Barnabas Nawangwe, commended NCBA Bank Uganda for its five-year commitment to sponsoring the annual marathon. He said the bank has fulfilled its pledge to help transform the event into a professionally organized marathon, contributing to its continued growth and success.

Prof. Nawangwe also appealed to Makerere University alumni and other well-wishers to participate in the marathon on September 27. He said proceeds from the event will help raise additional funds to support the university’s Disability Resource Centre, which provides services and resources to students with disabilities.
