Maj.Gen. Jackson Bakasumba not new deputy IGP

Uganda police force has clarified that Maj. Gen. Jackson Bakasumba who is the Uganda Police Force joint chief of staff has not been appointed the new Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as its circulating of social media.

“please disregard all social media posts making false and baseless claims about the appointment of the chief of joint staff, AIGP Jackson Bakasumba as the Deputy IGP. Its not true and we ask all media platform to pull down their fake stories.” police posted on their official social media platforms

its should be noted that since the late Lt. Gen. Paul Lokech who succumbed to a blood clot death in August this year there is no replacement todate.

 Gen Bakasumba was the Commandant Peace Support Operations Training Center (PSO-TC) at Camp Singo in 2018.

Bakasumba was also the commandant of the Armoured Warfare Training School in 2014.
