The National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential flag bearer Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine personal body guard Norbert Ariho has been arrested and whisked away to unknown destination by police in Bududa.
According to the write up put up on his officially facebook page, Bobi Wine says the arrest is aimed at framing Ariho as the person who threw the grenade that nearly killed them in Kayunga district on Tuesday this week.
“Even when clear evidence came out showing that our comrade Nobert Ariho never threw the grenade that nearly killed us, as alleged by police, they have gone ahead and arrested him violently, bundled him onto a police truck and drove him to an unknown destination! The same police officer called Asiimwe, who continues to follow us and cause mayhem commandeered his arrest! Definitely they are so ashamed of themselves and simply want to prove a point! We are aware of their plan to arrest, torture and detain many more people that I work with until after elections. Too bad for them, Uganda is far ahead of them!” wrote Bobi wine
By press time police had not commented on the matter or given any reasons for the arrest.
it should be noted that after the Tuesday Kayunga Incident where a grenade was thrown on the car near Bobi wine that blew up and its fragments injured the head of Bobi’s security detail given to him by the electoral commission ASP Kato William, several videos have been making rounds on social media some implicating Ariho has the person who threw the grenade while others exonerated him.
