The Central Executive Committee of the National Resistance Movement NRM has endorsed Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Among as their flag bearer for the Speakership race that fell vacant after the passing of Speaker Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah.
Our reliable source at State House Entebbe has confirmed to us that CEC has endorsed the deputy speaker Among in order to consolidate the achievement and keep unity within the party.
Anita Among now awaits the election on Friday, 25 march, 2022 at Kololo independence ground where parliament will sit to see whether she replaces her fallen senior speaker Rt. Hon. Jacob Oulanyah .
Meanwhile, sources also revealed that the rest of the contestant will be given a chance to vy for deputy speaker if Anita Among wins the speakership race
Oulanyah passed on in Seattle, USA after being treated for unknown illness.
