The father of the late speaker of parliament Jacob Oulanyah, Mr Nathan Okori has told mourners at the burial ceremony of his son in Omolo district that his son died of poison.
“I’m not mourning in vain. I want to say it clearly. Jacob was poisoned. He told me. The poison affected his health so much.
And he was operated, doctors attempted to deal with the poison, the poison affected his health so badly by the time he was flown out for treatment he was not in position to recover, he was too weak.”Mr Nathan Okori, the father of Jacob Oulanyah
It should be recalled that president Museveni warned the public against allegations that the late. Speaker Oulanyah was poisoned adding that those saying so will be arrested by police and help it in investigating the allegation
Mr. Okori also reported to the chief justice Alphonse Owiny Dollo that there is a certain lady muddling with Jacob’s estate hence appealing to him to safe guard it.
“Your lordship the Chief Justice, I have learnt that a certain lady is muddling with Jacob’s estate, tempering and hiding documents. You are the one in charge of laws in Uganda I want you to safe guard Jacobs estate from meddlers.” Mr. Okori said
In the same way, Okori said that Oulanyah was not just his son but he was a son to the whole country. adding that he was taking care of many people who depended on him and left many unfinished initiatives which he says government of Uganda should finish Oulanyah’s house so that the income from it can be used to take care of his family and grandchildren he left behind.
He further told mourners to receive the information in good spirit.
“You the mourners please receive this information from me in good faith, my son has died, he is now gone, we will never see him again.”
