The presiding Bishop for the Evangelical Orthodox Church EOC in Uganda Jacinto Kibuuka has urged the public to desist from selfishness and all satanic acts.
In his homily while leading the Easter Sunday Divine Liturgy celebrations at Mamre International Prayer Center, in Namugongo Wakiso district, Bishop Kibuuka cited out the recently signed coffee agreement between the government and Uganda Vinci Coffee Company Limited, a private company to market and export Uganda’s coffee as one of the acts of selfishness happening in the country which must be condemned.

“In line of selfishness look at the coffee agreement recently signed. It is absolute selfishness and that tendency only help one group of particular people or an individual but not all Ugandans. Surprisingly the people given the contract of coffee they don’t even grow coffee but only intending to cheat the struggling Ugandans who grow and look after it.
God is going to punish whoever is so selfish that the curses you will get nobody will be able to take them away unless you embrace Jesus Christ and practice Godly acts” said Bishop Kibuuka

The contract which ends in 2032 , subject to renewal, among others gave the Italian company, Uganda Vinci Coffee Company Limited , exclusive rights to buy all of Uganda’s coffee whereas it was also exempted from paying taxes including income tax, pay as you earn, Excise Duty, Stamp Duty, VAT, Import Duty and corporate income tax.
On the other side, the Ugandan government undertook to inject money into the company.
He said that the selfishness that is eating every soul and heart of Ugandans is the mother source of corruption and the enemy to development, peace, stability and security.
“As we celebrate Easter, we must look at this selfishness as the source of evil within us. Fellow Ugandans how would celebrate Easter wholeheartedly when people are cutting each other with pangas, what could be the hotbed of all this and what can we do to help each other.” Bishop Kibuuka said
“You see people grabbing other people’s land! That kind of behavior is not divine, when you read Galatian 5: 19, God is telling us if we don’t avoid the acts of selfishness and dark world we shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.” Bishop Added
It on the above note that he called upon all Ugandans to use the celebration of the resurrection of Jesus Christ to avoid selfishness since its then it will get out of your heart, your community, your country and the world at large and there shall be no more wars and conflict hence we shall leave in peace and harmony while developing and prospering as a whole.
