The first edition of the Press Uganda awards is slated to take place on Friday 30th, September, 2022 at HBT Rusell Hotel, Kampala.
The awards aim at recognizing and awarding the best performing singers every after two months through nomination and transparent open online voting where the winner takes it all.
According to Male Deogratius alias Omusawo Tintah, a media personality and also the Chief Executive Officer of Xavier Marketing Agency, an agency that has partnered with the Entertainment Journalists Association Uganda (EJAU) to organize the Press Uganda Awards, says that the motive behind is for the entertainment journalists and media at large to appreciate the artists while still alive for their works.
He says they have commenced with only two categories but they hope to include more categories in the near future.
He adds that voting is open to the public since they only have to visit www.pressug.com to cast their vote.
The current category include: Best Personality of August and September and the contestants are: David Lutaalo, Vyper Rankings, Spice Diana, Fik Fameica, Liam Voice, Winnie Nwanji, Azawi, Martha Mukisa and Karole Kasita.
The second category is Must Watch Talent and the contestants are: Vyroota, Acidic Vokoz, Tyana Bax, Amos Lovins and King Fa.
