All is set for Kaliro Motor Rally in Busoga this Sunday,

Excitement rocked Busoga region and the motorsport fraternity as the Central Motor Club revealed that the Kaliro Sugar Rally 2022  is back  in Eastern Uganda  and  will be graced by the Kyabazinga of Busoga His highness Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV come 11th and 13th, November 

The event is organized by Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) in conjunction with Central Motor Club, the rally will take place between 11th and 13th November in the districts of Jinja, Iganga and Bugweri.

According to Alfred Mutanda the Clerk of the Course, this will be the 6th event on the FMU calendar and according to him, it will cover a total distance of 300 Kilometres with 134 KM being competitive.

“It will require 100 points for one to be declared winner and the second position will be 80points and the third 70 points. However,  Posiano Lwakataka only needs 30 points to take the title “says Alfred Miranda 

During the launch of this rally at Nakalama parking yard in Iganga, the Busoga east regional police commander Samuel Asiimwe emphasized the element of safety and also warned both rally drivers and fans to follow traffic rules during the Rally.

Asimwe also cautioned those who use a chance of public gathering to involve themselves in snatching people’s belonging, saying police is more than ready to deal with criminals no matter who they may be .

“As we all come to enjoy on 11th and 13th we should have respect for the laws of this country, as police we ask drivers and fans to respect the traffic rules come that period and also to keep peace ,we have enough security to see that everyone is safe “

The Kaliro Rally 2022 will be a compact one with 300 KM total distance to be covered. Of these, 134 KM will be competitive with five stages. The longest section will have 45 KM and the super special stage at Nakalama. These will be spread out in two days with Sunday as the final day.
