Dr Kwagala Clare a Psychiatric at UMC hospital has revealed that many people are still battling depression, anxiety bipolar and other mental health issues which was brought about by the  COVID 19 pandemic and subsequent lockdown.

Addressing the media, Dr. Kwagala said that mental health issues were mostly accelerated by the social, economic and physiological effects which were mostly caused by the lock down which lured a number of people into using substances like marijuana and other narcotics  to relieve off the stress thus ending up addicted to drug substances.

Edward Nkurunungi, the CEO of Peer Nation who is battling mental health for over 2 decades now says that the lock down affected them negatively since they were unable to get treatment while others ended up in police jail.

Edward emphasizes that even after the lockdown people are still highly facing mental health issues since many lost their jobs, businesses while others have anxiety.

He has thus called upon people with mental health issues not to hesitant to seek medical attention in case they get any sign of depression
